UTM campaign URL builder

Use one landing page and a separate tagged URL for each place you share it. Copy individual links or download a CSV so your team can use the same campaign name across channels.

Create tagged URLs for one campaign

Enter the address visitors should land on. Keep the campaign name consistent, then use each variant to name the source, medium, and optional placement.

The builder runs in your browser. Copy or download your links before you leave.

Give every link a job

  1. Use the source to identify the referrer

For an Instagram reel, use instagram. For a mailing list, use newsletter or a consistent name for that publication.

  2. Use the medium to group a type of visit

Keep email links under email and organic social links under social. Use the same vocabulary as the rest of your reporting team.

  3. Use content for placements within a source

If an email has a link in both the first paragraph and the footer, give the two links different content tags. Keep the campaign, source, and medium the same.

  4. Keep the landing address intact

The builder preserves unrelated query parameters and page anchors. It replaces the campaign tags shown in the form. Open the finished URL and check that the expected landing page still loads.

A worked example with workshop reservations

A fictional bakery sends an email and posts a reel for the same workshop. It uses one campaign name and two source tags. If the newsletter brings 25 visits and four bookings while Instagram brings 120 visits and six bookings, the reel brought more bookings and the newsletter converted a larger share of visits. Read the numbers alongside the booking flow before deciding what to repeat.
