File uploads

Which files Réson can learn from, and what happens after you upload them.

Drop files into Réson during onboarding or later in Knowledge. Each file becomes a source: Réson extracts the text, finds facts, and links each fact back to the file.

Supported files

  • Documents: PDF, Word (.docx), PowerPoint (.pptx), plain text and Markdown
  • Spreadsheets: Excel (.xlsx) and CSV
  • Images: JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF and HEIC — for example a logo, a menu photo or product shots
  • AI chat exports: ChatGPT or Claude exports (see Importing ChatGPT conversations)

Older Office formats (.doc, .xls, .ppt) can't be read directly — save them in the newer format first.

Limits

  • Up to 25 MB per file
  • Up to 20 files per upload

What happens next

Files are processed in the background, and you can keep working while that happens. When a file is ready, new facts appear in your profile with their source. If a file can't be read, Réson tells you why.

Removing a file

Delete a source from Knowledge. Facts that came only from that source are no longer used.
