Outreach & CASL consent
How Réson helps you email people the right way under Canada's anti-spam law.
Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) applies to commercial electronic messages. Réson treats every outreach message as one.
Consent
- Express consent — the person agreed to receive your emails.
- Implied consent — for example, an existing business relationship. It expires; Réson tracks the date.
- Unknown — Réson leaves these contacts out of outreach until consent is recorded.
- Unsubscribed — kept on your suppression list and never contacted again.
Identification and unsubscribe
Every outreach message includes your business name, mailing address, a way to contact you and an unsubscribe link. Add your mailing address in your settings before sending — Réson won't send without it.
Sequences
Create a multi-step follow-up with delays between steps. Review the drafts and the list of included and excluded contacts (with reasons), then approve the sequence. Sending respects a daily limit.
Sending
Email is sent from your own connected account, through the provider's official authorisation, as integrations become available.
Réson helps you follow good consent practices but isn't legal advice. You're responsible for having consent and for the messages you approve.
